Bridal Aesthetics

To celebrate the season of love, we’re sharing our personal Do’s and Don’ts for the run up to the big day…

It’s February, the month of love! And I want to share my advice for those looking for that extra glow, whether it be for everyday life or your big day, this is my advice on how to feel your best version of yourself.

If you’re getting married, you’re especially aware of all the photo opportunities. You want your skin glowing and face feeling fresh.

With weddings finally back on the go, it’s been a busy start to the year after some time off. From the year leading up to your big day, up until a few days before, you want to make sure you have the best treatments and products lined up.

The best staples…

The canvas of each individual is the best place to start. We’re talking all things skin.

Whether it is upgrading your skin care to a better routine with high quality products, or just making sure you wear your SPF and keep the UV damage at bay.

Whether your concern is texture, hyperpigmentation, acne, scaring or fine lines, there will be products we can tailor to suit you and help your skin appearance.

If you prefer to have an in clinic treatment, the blue radiance peel by Obagi may be a good start, this is a very gentle chemical peel and works best with around 3-6 treatments. It is a quick, superficial salicylic acid-based facial peel that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. It provides tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin.

This alongside some at home products will help give you a glow and improve other issues, including reducing pigmentation, improving skin tone and texture, and a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles. A 0.1% retinol twice a day is a great staple product.

Time is your biggest ally

In a perfect world, you would start thinking about aesthetic treatments at least 6 months in advance of the big event, if you are well versed in aesthetics and already have a practitioner you see regularly or know which treatments work for you, time is not so much an issue.

However if you are new to it all, you want enough time to explore potential treatments, I wouldn’t advise trying something new within 3 months leading up to the wedding date. This will leave enough of a time buffer to ensure you know what to expect, you are happy with the results and any further tweakments can be booked to make sure you feel the best version of yourself.

Diamonds are a girls best friend… and botox!

If you know and trust your aesthetic practitioner, and have already experimented with anti-wrinkle injections, you may want to consider this a month prior to the wedding, allowing time for a 2-week follow up to make sure you are photo fresh and ready.

HOW LONG DOES THIS LAST ON AVERAGE?

"Results with botox can be seen for up to 3-6 months."

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

"About 12-24 hours of minimal downtime with best results seen 1-2 weeks post treatment."

If you know someone who is starting their preperations for their big day, be sure to use these pointers and help take one more worry away from them!
